In order to help us identify and locate your personal data, when submitting a request please be as specific as possible when describing both the information you believe may exist and its possible sources.
Data protection legislation allows us to ask you for further clarification where appropriate; and we will normally be unable to begin processing your request until that clarification has been provided.
TfL, its subsidiaries and service providers will use the personal information you provide to enable us to reply to your request and any subsequent internal review, complaint or appeal about its handling in accordance with data protection legislation our information access policy, and our privacy and data protection handling procedure.
On some occasions, we may need to share your information with associated organisations, including the Information Commissioner's Office, the Information Rights Tribunal, and other legal representatives for these purposes. We will retain a record of your request for up to two years after it, or any review or appeal, is complete - for the purposes of managing any subsequent correspondence and establishing and defending legal rights.

If you are a registered Oyster or contactless payment card customer, you can access your journey/payment history and other personal information by signing into your online account. Oyster card journey history is retained for 8 weeks after the card has been used, and for contactless payment cards, journey history is retained for 13 months. You can make a Subject Access request for your personal information held by Transport for London in connection with taxi and private hire licensing. The form below will give you guidance on how to make a request.
If you are a registered Road User Charging customer, you can see your journey and payment history and other information by signing into your online account. If you receive a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN), there will be two images of the vehicle on the PCN itself.

TfL's traffic monitoring cameras are not used to record images and our enforcement cameras are normally only used to record contraventions of traffic regulations as they are happening.

London's bus services are operated by individual bus companies on behalf of TfL. Any CCTV on London buses is the responsibility of the company that runs that particular service or route.
If you require access to images of yourself recorded by a CCTV camera inside a bus you should contact the company which operates that particular bus route. You can find this information on signs displayed inside each vehicle or on our Who runs your bus page. As images are retained for only a limited time, wherever possible please make a request within a week of the images being recorded.
