You need an online contactless and Oyster account to use the app. Once you've downloaded the app, sign in with the username and password that you use for your account.
If you don't already have an Oyster online account, you'll be able to create one using the app. You'll need to provide your:
When you've created your account, add your Oyster card by entering the full card number and answering your security question (if the card is registered). If your Oyster card isn't registered, you'll need to provide details of the last journey you made using your card.
You need to add your contactless card to your online account to see it in the TfL app.
Discounted season tickets can't be purchased and Oyster photocards can't currently be used with the app.
Once you've signed in to the app, you'll be able to:
When you top up your credit or buy a season ticket, it'll be available to collect after 30 minutes when you touch your Oyster card on a yellow card reader as part of a journey on any London bus; or at any Tube, DLR, London Overground, TfL Rail or National Rail station within the pay as you go area; tram stop or River Bus pier.

Older Oyster cards don't work with the app. If you have an older card, you can still use it to travel, but to use the app you'll need to replace it with a new Oyster card.
