Bus changes

Brixton stop changes - 21 June 2022

Routes affected: 2, 3, 35, 45, 59, 109, 118, 133, 159, 196, 333, 355, 415, 432, N2, N3, N109, N133, N250 and P4

Following changes to the road and pavement layout in Brixton Town Centre there will be revised stopping arrangement for all buses travelling southbound past Brixton underground station. These changes will allow bus routes 2, 3, 196, 415 and 432 to once again stop close to the station. 

The new stopping arrangements will be as follows:

Bus Stop N will be served by bus routes 35, 355 and P4
New bus stop P will be served by bus routes 45, 59, 109, 118, 133, 159, 333, N109, N133 and N250
Bus Stop Q will be served by bus routes 2, 3, 196, 415, 432, N2 and N3

Timetable changes - 25 June 2022

Routes Affected:  70, 105, 245, 267 and W4

Route 70 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 105 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

Route 245 will have a new timetable on all days of the week with minor changes to times.

The temporary timetable on route 267 will be removed with the frequency of the service restored to run every 10 minutes during the daytime on Monday to Fridays and every 12 minutes during the daytime on Saturdays. Buses will continue to run every 15 minutes during the evenings and all day on Sundays.

Route W4 will have a new timetable from this date. The timetable will be improved during the evenings on Monday to Saturdays and all day on Sundays with buses running every 12 minutes instead of the current 15 minute frequency. Route W4 will continue to run every 10 minutes during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays.

Timetable changes - 2 July 2022

Routes Affected:  111, 279, 349 and N279

A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 111 from Monday 4 July until Saturday 9 July to reflect the increase in journey times during the Hampton Court Flower Show. A widened frequency will be in place during the show with buses running every 9-10 minutes during the AM & PM peak on Monday to Fridays and every 10-11 minutes during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays. No change to the frequency or times of buses during the evening or overnight. 

A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 279 which will widen the frequency of the service during the AM peak to a bus every 6-7 minutes, every 7-8 minutes during the daytime and every 8-9 minutes during the PM peak on Monday to Fridays, every 9-10 minutes during the daytime on Saturdays and to every 13 minutes during the daytime on Sundays. No change during the evening. This change is needed to help buses keep to time during the works to implement a cycle scheme in the Ponders End area.

A temporary timetable will be introduced on route 349 which will widen the frequency of the service to a bus every 10-11 minutes during the daytime on Monday to Saturdays and to every 13 minutes during the daytime on Sundays. No change during the evening. This change is needed to help buses keep to time during the works to implement a cycle scheme in the Ponders End area.

Route N279 will have a new timetable on all nights of the week with minor changes to times.

Hammersmith Bridge closure

Routes Affected: 33, 72, 209, 378, 419, 485, 533, N33 and N72  

Hammersmith Bridge is currently closed to all users, including people walking and cycling, for safety reasons.

Routes 33, 209 and 485 are starting and finishing at the junction of Castelnau and Lonsdale Road to the south of Hammersmith Bridge. Route 72 continues to terminate on the north side of Hammersmith Bridge.

Circular route 533 has been introduced running from Hammersmith Lower Bus Station via Chiswick Bridge, Mortlake High Street, Barnes Bridge Station, Lonsdale Road to Castlenau then returning to Hammersmith via Barnes High Street, Barnes Bridge Station, Mortlake High Street and Chiswick Bridge. Route 533 runs every 10 minutes in the AM and PM peak on Monday to Fridays and every 12 minutes during the daytime on all days of the week. The evening frequency on all days of the week will remain at a bus every 15 minutes. First buses depart Hammersmith at 0448 and Castelnau at 0510. Last buses depart Hammersmith at 0050 and Castelnau at 0110.

More buses have also been added to route 378 which runs between Mortlake, Barnes High Street and Putney Bridge Station every 7-8 minutes on Monday to Saturdays and every 10 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays.

Route 419 is diverting at the southern end of Hammersmith Bridge to run to and from Roehampton, Bessborough Road replacing route 72 over this section. Route 419 runs every 12 minutes on Monday to Saturdays and every 20 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays.

Route N33 is diverting between Barnes, Red Lion and Hammersmith Bus Station via Lower Richmond Road, Putney Bridge and Fulham Palace Road. Route N72 is diverting between Barnes Station and Hammersmith Bus Station via Lower Richmond Road, Putney Bridge and Fulham Palace Road.

Long Term Diversions

Routes Affected: 8, 11, 25, 26, 28, 60, 75, 109, 119, 133, 166, 292, 306, 312, 335, 360, 405, 407, 412, 433, 452, 455, 466, 468, 521, 633, B16, N8, N11, N25, N26, N28, N68, N109, N133, N242, N250 and N551.

Woolstone Road is closed in both directions in Sydenham until July 2022. Route 75 is on diversion between Catford Hill and Perry Vale with buses diverting via Perry Hill and Perry Rise and unable to serve Woolston Road. Additionally buses towards Lewisham will also serve the bus stop within the grounds of the Sainsbury's store at Lower Sydenham.

Moorhead Way in Kidbrooke is closed in both directions between Ensign Close and Weigall Road. Buses on route 335 are diverting in both directions via Ensign Street and Handley Drive instead. Route B16 towards Bexleyheath are also diverting via Ensign Street and Handley Drive. These works are due to finish in July 2022.

Route 28 is currently starting and finishing on Harrow Road at the junction of Kilburn Lane and unable to serve Kilburn Lane and Chamberlayne Road due to roadworks at Kensal Rise. Passengers can transfer at Kilburn Lane to bus route 52 which continues to serve both Kilburn Lane and Chamberlayne Road. The works are due to finish at the end of August 2022.

Route 452 is currently starting and finishing at Ladbroke Grove, Sainsbury's and unable to serve Kilburn Lane and Chamberlayne Road due to roadworks at Kensal Rise. Passengers can transfer at Ladbroke Grove, Sainsbury's to bus route 52 which contrinues to serve both Kilburn Lane and Chamberlayne Road. The works are due to finish at the end of August 2022.

Beddington Lane is closed in both directions at Beddington Cross until the end of August 2022. Route 455 is on diversion between Beddington Asda and Ampere Way with buses diverting via Marlowe Way and Beddington Farm Road. Buses are unable to serve Beddington Lane or Coomber Way. Route 463 provides an alternative link between Beddington Asda and Coomber Way. Route 633 will also be diverted in both directions between Beddington Village and Beddington Lane Tram Stop via Marlowe Way, Beddington Farm Road and Coomber Way.

Due to redevelopment works of North End Market, North End Road in Fulham is currently closed southbound with routes 28, 306 and N28 having to divert via Lillie Road, Munster Road and Dawes Road. Northbound buses are not diverted. The works are due to finish in October 2022.

Due to roadworks closing bus stops on Capitol Way in Colindale buses on route 292 are currently terminating at bus stop CX, named Carlisle Road, on Edgware Road. Towards Borehamwood buses on route 292 are currently starting at the temporary bus stop on Capitol Way located opposite the car park exit to Asda.

Threadneedle Street is closed until further notice eastbound only with routes 8, 11, 26, N8, N11, N26 and N242 diverting between Bank and Liverpool Street via Lombard Street, King William Street, Gracechurch Street and Bishopsgate . Routes 133 and N133 are diverting in both directions between Monument and Liverpool Street Bus Station via Gracechurch Street, Bishopsgate and Wormwood Street. Route N551 towards Trafalgar Square is diverting from Camomile Street via Bishopsgate and Threadneedle Street to Bank and towards Gallions Reach buses from Bank Station via Princes Street, Moorgate, South Place, Eldon Street and Blomfield Street to London Wall.

Park Street in Croydon is closed eastbound until further notice with routes 60, 109, 433, 455, 468, N68, N109 and N250 towards West or East Croydon diverting via Katharine Street and Park Lane. Buses are not serving stop KE on Park Street and using stop KC on Park Lane instead.

Katharine Street in Croydon is part closed westbound until further notice with routes 60, 119, 166, 312, 405, 407, 412, 455, 466, 468 and N68 are diverting via Fell Road, Park Lane Roundabout and Edridge Road.

Due to temporary road layout changes at the junction of Chelsea Bridge Road and Grosvenor Road for a cycle scheme buses towards Royal Albert Hall on route 360 are now turning directly from Grosvenor Road into Chelsea Bridge Road and not serving Chelsea Embankment or Bull Ring Gate. The revised route will be in place until October 2023. There is no change to the route of buses travelling towards Elephant & Castle.

Angel Street in the St Paul's area of City of London is now closed until spring 2025 to allow building works to take place. Buses travelling eastbound towards Bank on routes 8, 25, N8, N25 and N242 or towards Cannon Street on route 521 are diverting from King Edward Street via Little Britain, Montague Street and Aldersgate Street to St Martins-le-Grand. Buses are serving all stops on this diversionary route.
